Young, emerging architects come together with prominent guests from architecture, politics, culture, and society to discuss pressing issues, inspiring projects, and forward-looking developments. The focus is on projects and positions that arise out of necessity—on passion, relevance, and the shaping of the economic rules of cities, beyond decorative façades, formal attitudes, and an architectural discourse driven solely by a Western perspective. Featuring lectures, panel discussions, performances, and unorthodox music.
Within the conference, the “Munich Session” is considered a special format: each year, a new topic relevant to the city is addressed in a panel discussion. In 2017, the focus is on the development of Munich’s Werksviertel, including the new concert hall, for which an architectural competition is currently underway.
Nadin Heinich, initiator of the conference, guides the day and welcomes the following speakers: Kiril Ass – Alexander Brodsky Studio; Ayzit Bostan – artist and designer; Emanuel Christ – Christ & Gantenbein; Johannes Ernst – Steidle Architekten; Stefan F. Höglmaier – Euroboden Group; Freek Persyn – 51N4E; Patrik Schumacher – Zaha Hadid Architects; Jörn Walter – former Chief Planning Director of Hamburg; Joanna Warsza – artist; Liam Young – Tomorrow’s Thoughts Today
